ABOUT US
Registered under the name Derbyshire Positive Support, we have provided a warm, home-like environment for 35 years. We have recently transitioned from an unicorporated charity to CIO.
Based in Derby, we have been supporting adults across Derbyshire living with or affected by HIV, many of whom experience multiple forms of disadvantage including poverty, discrimination, poor health, insecure housing, and social isolation.
We believe that by gaining a better awareness of HIV and their status, people will have a better understanding and manage their condition and deal with symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, depression, and pain. Being able to talk to other people living with life-limiting or long term conditions creates a supportive environment where people can share experiences and learn from each other to find a more positive outlook that is essential to their long term health and wellbeing.
The ‘Well for Life’ drop-in service can help you to improve your confidence and increase your ability to manage your condition. It can give you greater control of your life and enhance your total health and wellbeing.
Well for Life services are open to both adults and young persons over age 16 services are offered irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, ethnic or cultural background, to people of any faith, or none.
